How to Air Squat – video transcript
G’day everyone, this is Dave. What we’re going to go through today is just a basic squat. How to do air squats and some common ways people get it wrong. So first off, how to do it right. What we want to do is set our stance just slightly outside of shoulder-width. From there, face your feet out. The first thing you should do, make sure you’ve got a nice, straight back, shoulders back. Stick your bum out first. From there, the movement should be just be straight down. So, bum goes out, straight down. Try to get your hips below your knee joint or just as low as you can keeping that good posture.
Some ways to get it wrong is if your back rounds through your squat. So, when you drop down, your back rounds, or if you chase your bum out, and your upper body comes forward. There’s some common ways that people get it wrong. Another way is that when you squat down, your knees buckle in, and then sort of go over the line of your feet.
