BOXING TIPS – WARMING UP BEFORE TRAINING

Warming up before training – video transcript

Hi guys, today I’m going to be talking about warming up for boxing training, and I’m going to go through a couple of warm up exercises to get your blood flowing and increase your body temperature.

The first one is a little bit of skipping, start off light, and pick up the intensity as you go along. So, start off with a three-minute routine of skipping. Next round, after every thirty seconds of skipping, and ten seconds of sprinting. Skip, and then sprint, and back down to skip.

That’s the first thing. Second thing you do is shadow boxing. When you’re shadow boxing, make sure you’re weaving and you’re slipping, and you’re nice and loose, and you’re moving your shoulders.

The last thing we’re going to talk about is dynamic stretches. One type of stretch is if you move your arm forwards, you can also go backwards, make sure you do both sides. Another type of stretch is to push your arms out, left one up, and then change to the right one up.

Thanks for listening, guys. Try a couple of these in your next class.
